South Lake Macquarie & Northern Central Coast
The main road through this region is Doyalson Road and it connects drivers to suburbs like Blue Haven, Lake Haven and Charmhaven on the South, Wyee on the opposite side to the North, then as you travel further East you’ll be able to turn South into Budgewoi or North into Summerland Point and Gorokan.
At the end of Doyalson Road you’ll reach the south side of Swansea which is the opening to the ocean for Lake Macquarie. Near here you’ll find Caves Beach and the massive new development at Catherine Hill Bay.

Northern Lake Macquarie & Newcastle
Northern Lake Macquarie areas like Warners Bay, Eleebana and Valentine offer an exclusive lifestyle yet is within 15 minutes of the Newcastle CBD so lots of young families move there to get the lifestyle benefit while still being relatively close to their work or work opportunities.
Eastern Lake Macquarie & Caves Beach
Eastern Lake Macquarie is a bit further for both Newcastle workers and for people who want to be connected to Sydney, even though the Doylson Link Road make it seem much closer. The popular suburbs here include Belmont, Swansea and Caves Beach and they’re great because they combine access to Newcastle as well as the beach and the lake.
It’s a bit like the Northern Beaches of Sydney with a relaxed beach lifestyle – just watch out for low lying, flood prone areas around the inlet at Swansea.
